Ozone layer and UV radiation

in a changing climate evaluated during IPY

(ORACLE -O3)

(A project during the International Polar Year 2007-2008 (IPY))

ORACLE-O3 is a cluster project which brings together the tasks of 16 expressions of interest (EoI).  It deals with experimental and modelling research on the ozone layer, UV radiation and the effects of personal UV exposure during the IPY. The project will be managed by a management committee with members from each of the EoI's. In particular the project is divided into 7 main activities:
  1. Ozone loss (detection and impact on UV radiation)
  2. PSC and cirrus
  3. Atmospheric chemistry
  4. UV radiation
  5. Ozone and climate change and feedback
  6. Data management
  7. Education, outreach and communication
Activity leaders will be responsible for the scientific leadership of the project.

More information can be found in the proposal text and the more detailed expressions of interest.  An overview gives the Powerpoint Presentation compiled by Niels Larsen.
